About the Course
Islamic Inheritance is considered to be one of the most complex and yet essential subject in the field of Islamic jurisprudence. Its significance is neglected among the Muslim community often leading to confusion, misunderstanding and family disagreements. Furthermore, most students are generally taught the traditional classical method of calculation that overly complicates the estate distribution, confusing students and graduate scholars inexperienced in the field. This masterclass workshop has been designed to touch on the essential aspects of inheritance based on the Quranic and prophetic principles and presents a simplified step by step guide towards applying modern calculation methods of distributing the shares between the legal beneficiaries using real life cases.

Aims and Objectives
The masterclass workshop aims to educate interested participants about the wider significance of inheritance, the Islamic shares of the eligible beneficiaries, the correct distribution method using modern calculation methods and answers to the most common questions about inheritance and wasiyyah.

5. Inheritance in the Quran and Sunnah
6. Simplified fraction and percentage methods of inheritance calculation.
7. Calculating kasar, radd and munasakhah.
8. About wasiyyah and making an Islamic will.

Workshop Format
The workshop adopts a practical-based approach that integrates theory with practical exercises and case studies. The delivery format will be through visual PowerPoint with interactive case studies related to real-life experiences. The session facilitates a two-way engagement between the instructor and the inquisitive audience during the case study exercises. The audience will be given handouts so to follow the session smoothly and for future reference.

About the Instructor
Mufti Abdul Waheed currently serves as a full-time researcher at JKN Fatawa Department over a decade to date answering Islamic queries in the form of fatawas on a variety of topics. All of his research fatawas are approved and published on the JKN Fatawa website under the attestation of Shaykh Mufti Saiful Islam. Many of the fatawas that Mufti Abdul Waheed has researched into in depth include divorce, marriage, dietary laws, finance, inheritance and personal worship. As part of the JKN Fatawa Department project, he also deals with Muslim marriage counselling to supports couple struggling with their marriage relationship and helps people search for a marriage spouse for over a decade. He has delivered various of fiqh and non-fiqh related workshops locally and in various cities, periodically contributes articles on marriage discourse and fiqh topics in the Almumin magazine. He also lectures at JKN institute in Bradford in Islamic sciences such as, Tafsir (Jalalain), Fiqh (Hidayah), Usool-ul-fiqh (Usool Shashi), Inheritance, Islamic finance (Fiqhul Buyoo), Arabic syntax and Islamic research (Buhooth al-Islamiyyah). He also lectures in the Takhassus fil fiqh course, a three-year part-time course which specialises in training students in Ifta at JKN institute and Al-Balagh Academy.
